Description
The Venom Hybrid 3-Step Diamond Polishing Pads are the first product ever released under the Venom brand and remain our all-time number one seller. This is the original hybrid polishing system Brent—founder of Venom and designer of all Venom products to modern date—introduced on YouTube back in 2017, helping spark the industry-wide shift toward 3-step polishing. Many companies attempted early versions of 3-step systems, but none delivered the consistency and versatility that fabricators needed until the Hybrid formula was released.
The Hybrid resin was developed during the rise of quartz, quartzite, porcelain, and engineered materials—surfaces that demanded controlled cutting, reduced heat, and consistent refinement. Early-generation pads frequently struggled with heat, glazing, and water sensitivity. The Venom Hybrid system solved these problems with a resin technology that allowed fabricators to work in real shop and field conditions, not just ideal laboratory conditions.
What Made the Venom Hybrid Different From Every Other 3-Step Pad
Brent has always clarified that he did not invent the concept of 3-step pads—others had early versions. What made the Venom Hybrid system different, and why it became known as the “working man’s 3-step pad,” was the introduction of a hybrid resin that could perform in ways no pad of that era could.
The Venom Hybrid pads were the first 3-step system engineered to operate dry, almost dry, or wet, giving fabricators full control depending on the job. They also offered an exceptionally wide operational RPM range—from 20 RPMs up to 7,000 RPMs—allowing them to run on nearly any grinder, polisher, or working style.
They were also one of the first pads capable of delivering both surface repair and edge polishing at a professional level, at a time when fabricators typically needed two separate systems.
Hybrid resin introduced a new level of freedom:
-
Handles low water, misting, and inconsistent water
-
Excellent heat tolerance
-
Performs extremely well with or without full water
-
Forgiving and stable across a wide range of conditions
-
Ideal for shops, installs, field repair crews, and high-production environments
To date, no pad—by Venom or by any competitor—has surpassed the broad working range, versatility, and real-world performance of the original Venom Hybrid formula.
Comparison With Newer Venom Systems (Important)
Venom later introduced several polishing systems using advanced ceramic resin, which excels in surface correction:
-
Venom Ceramic 3-Step
-
Venom Bite 3-Step
-
Venom Quartz Pro 4-Step
All three are built from the same ceramic resin platform, which is ideal for:
-
Surface scratch repair
-
Surface refinement
-
Large flat-area clarity
-
Work requiring steady, continuous water
Ceramic Resin Advantages
-
Best for surface scratch repair & resurfacing
-
Best for flat-area clarity
-
Performs best with consistent water feed
-
Sharper finishing on surfaces
Hybrid Resin Advantages
-
Best when water is limited, reduced, misted, or inconsistent
-
Exceptional heat resistance
-
Superior for edges, transitions, installs, and field repairs
-
Performs dry, almost dry, or wet
-
More forgiving across uncontrolled working environments
This is why the Venom Hybrid remains the most versatile pad in the lineup, while ceramic-based systems outperform it in pure surface correction.
Recommended Pairings for Best Results
For maximum performance across all polishing environments, we strongly recommend pairing:
-
Venom Hybrid 3-Step
with either: -
Venom Ceramic 3-Step,
-
Venom Bite 3-Step, or
-
Venom Quartz Pro 4-Step
This covers both edge polishing AND high-end surface repair.
Fat Boy Sponge Pads (Highly Recommended Add-On)
Venom Fat Boy Sponge Pads should also be added to any polishing setup.
They work with all Venom pad systems and significantly increase performance on:
-
Light-to-medium surface scratches
-
Haze removal
-
Surface blending
-
Transition mark removal
-
Surface preparation and cleanup
Fat Boy Sponge Pads are one of the most effective add-ons for improving surface scratch-repair results across both Hybrid and Ceramic systems.

The last Quartz pads you’ll ever need
These are the only pads I use for Quartz anymore. They leave a great finish and last a very long time. The pattern on these are perfect. Not great for dry use but will work in a pinch.
-
venom spider pads
we love the pads, but the hybrid ones are the best, but spider pads are less expensive.

Great pads
Haven’t had them long so i can’t speak for wear, but they work great. Well worth the extra couple bucks over the cheaper ones.
